Previous work

The Museum of the Home, formerly the Geffrye Museum of the Home, is currently closed and undergoing a major redevelopment. I copy-edited the text and proofread the display panels and object captions for the museum’s reworked galleries, which are due to open in September 2020.

WILD WORLD is the Natural History Museum’s quarterly magazine for children. I have been the publication’s copy editor for more than four years, editing all articles and proofreading all print layouts. In addition, I regularly copy-edit and proofread material for the museum’s quarterly magazine for adults, Evolve.

In 2017 I copy-edited the text and proofread the layouts for the display panels and captions, and visitor information panels for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition and touring exhibition. I also worked on previous Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibitions as part of the Natural History Museum’s editorial team.

Archelon Editorial is run by Michael Allen.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and an NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) qualified journalist with a science degree. I have expertise in both print and online content production, having worked in the editorial sector for more than 15 years.

With extensive experience in science, natural history and the heritage sector, I know how to make complex content easily understood by lay audiences, including children. I have worked with museums on their content in all formats, from exhibition display panels and educational resources for schools to membership magazines and websites, and understand the importance of clear and correct communication.
